In a major action on Friday, the team of Anti-Corruption Bureau in Kota district of Rajasthan caught the enforcement officer of the logistics department in Baran district from Kota railway station with a bribe amount of Rs 1 lakh 76 thousand. The accused was going to Jaipur by train from Kota with the bribe amount. The accused was questioned about the amount, but he did not give any positive answer. ACB has informed the higher authorities about the matter. Also, a case has been registered against the accused logistics inspector Dinesh Choubey under the Anti-Corruption Act.
The interrogation of the accused and other inputs have revealed that the accused Dinesh Choubey has been promoted from enforcement inspector to enforcement officer in the logistics department just two days ago. It is being told that this game of bribery was being played for a long time. There are more than 500 ration dealers in Baran. In such a situation, this amount has been collected from ration dealers. ACB is now finding out about those ration dealers from whom this amount was collected. ACB says that information is being taken from the accused regarding who else is involved in this game of bribery.
Input was received about taking bribe from ration dealers
Additional Superintendent of Police of ACB Kota, Vijay Swarnkar, said that ACB had received confidential information that enforcement officer of logistics department Dinesh Choubey was going to Jaipur with the bribe amount from ration dealers and brokers. In such a situation, after verifying the complaint, the team started searching at different places at Kota railway station. As soon as the enforcement officer reached Kota railway station and started boarding the Ranthambore Express train after taking the ticket, the team caught him and recovered the bribe amount. The ACB team has started searching the accused’s Baran, Bandikui and Jaipur residence.
