A vehicle in the convoy of Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit, who was on a tour of the border areas of the state, met with a road accident today (Wednesday). Three soldiers have been injured in this accident. They have been admitted to the hospital. The accident happened due to the bursting of the tyre of the security personnel’s vehicle. Among the three injured soldiers, two are CRPF soldiers while one is a Chandigarh Police constable. All of them are being treated at Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in Amritsar. The Governor is completely safe in this accident.
Accident happened on Attari Border Highway
Around 1:30 pm on Wednesday, a vehicle carrying the Governor’s security personnel met with an accident due to a tyre burst. Three security personnel travelling in it were injured. The Governor’s convoy was coming from Pathankot to Amritsar at the time of the accident. The accident took place near Gharinda on the way to Attari Wagah Border. The names of the injured CRPF jawans are Vikas Upadhyay and Rakesh Kumar. Chandigarh Police jawan Kushal Singh is also injured. The condition of all the injured jawans is out of danger.
Pakistan is sending drugs and weapons: Purohit
Governor Banwari Lal Purohit is visiting border districts in Punjab. He is visiting these districts and taking stock of the border areas. Purohit has issued strict instructions regarding drugs in these areas. Purohit says that his purpose is to take stock of the security of 6 districts of Punjab because these districts are adjacent to Pakistan. Purohit said that the security agencies are also doing a good job with full vigilance. Drugs are also being caught in large quantities in these districts. Action to ban drugs is ongoing.
The Governor said that the village which does good work against drug abuse will be rewarded. The first prize is Rs 3 lakh, the second Rs 2 lakh and the third Rs 1 lakh. This amount will be given from the government fund. The village which becomes drug-free will get one more prize. He said that we have to be alert about our young generation. The Governor also targeted Pakistan and said that Pakistan cannot fight directly but tries to send weapons along with drugs to the state by adopting such tactics and has sent them many times. The Governor praised the efforts of the police and said that the Punjab Police is doing a good job but the Home Ministry is also alert about the situation in Punjab.
