After the sensational murder of a BJP leader in Bihar’s capital Patna, a fierce attack was made on a BJP leader in Bhagalpur as well. Miscreants fired more than 15 rounds. In Bhagalpur, some people attacked BJP leader Shashi Modi, husband of Ward 51 councilor Deepika Kumari, with a sword. He was admitted to Mayaganj Hospital for treatment in a critical condition. The incident took place around 11 pm on Monday night.
It was told that Shashi was sitting with some of his friends near Mahadev pond. Meanwhile, some goons from Chaudhari Dih came and first beat him up, then fired more than 15 rounds to spread terror. Bombs were also thrown. Shashi was attacked with swords and sticks. No one was ready to tell anything about why the fight took place and what was the dispute behind it.
The accused of assault are residents of Chaudhuri Dih. Regarding the incident, Shashi Modi’s friend Sumit said that some people from Chaudhuri Dih had arrived near Mahadev pond on Sunday night during Ganesh Puja festival. All of them were drunk. Shashi had an argument with them.
Sumit said that the police of Babarganj police station was also present about 10 minutes before the incident. As soon as the policemen left from there, about 50 accused attacked Shashi with the intention of killing him. Till the time of writing the news, Shashi Modi was unconscious, while the doctors were busy treating him. Councilor of Ward 51 Deepika Kumari and her family reached the spot.
