After analysing mobile data and questioning several witnesses, including an auto driver named Mahesh, the police unraveled the gruesome plot. Investigation revealed that the accused lured the victim to the outskirts of Vadlamudi on June 5 on the pretext of a friendly walk and made her drink a cold drink laced with cyanide and alcohol. She died instantly and then the trio fled after stealing her gold jewellery and money.
The auto driver confirmed that he had picked up the accused women and the victim in his auto. He said that he had also seen them buying liquor, which proved fatal for Nagoor B. The police then arrested the three.
Robbed by feeding cyanide
During police interrogation, the accused confessed that they had killed Nagurbi by giving her liquor laced with cyanide and stole her gold jewellery and money.
To make easy money, the three women befriended other women, gained their confidence and lured them to deserted areas where they would make them drink cyanide-laced soft drinks, kill them and steal their gold jewellery.
The prime accused M Rajani had been working as a volunteer for over four years and was also involved in cyber crimes in Cambodia.
