A case of rape of a law student has come to light in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The person who committed the crime is said to be a police constable. According to the information, the victim knew the accused from before. The police registered a case against the accused and arrested him and he has been sent on remand.

Rural Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kirtan Rathore said, “It is learnt that the victim knew the accused for the past 2-3 months. The incident took place within the limits of Mana police station.”

After the incident, the victim lodged a complaint and the police arrested the constable. ASP Kirtan Rathore said that after the complaint, a case has been registered against the accused. The officer further said that the arrested accused has been sent to judicial custody and further investigation is underway in the case. The victim said that the constable raped her at her home in his car on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

Earlier, the police of Raigarh district had arrested six people on the charge of gang rape of a 27-year-old tribal girl on the day of Rakshabandhan. Officials said that six people including Rahul Chauhan have been arrested on the charge of gang rape of a tribal girl in Pusaur police station area of ​​Raigarh. He said that according to the complaint of the victim, when the victim had left to go to the fair in the village after celebrating the festival of Rakshabandhan in Pusaur police station area, 20 km from the district headquarters, the accused stopped her on the way and took her to the pond.

According to the complaint, the accused gang-raped the girl by threatening to kill her. Officials said that after the incident, the victim reached the police station and informed the police about the incident, after which six accused including Rahul Chauhan were arrested.
