Police has got a big success in the fake note case having the picture of Bollywood actor Anupam Kher instead of Mahatma Gandhi. Police have arrested 3 people in this case. The thugs are accused of buying gold worth about Rs 1.5 crore by handing over fake notes to a bullion trader. Police arrested three people on Wednesday. In the information given by the Crime Branch, it has been said that gold worth Rs 1.37 crore has been recovered from the accused.

The Crime Branch team of the police has said that the arrested accused have been identified as Deepak Rajput (32) and his associates Narendra Jadav (36) and Kalpesh Mehta (45), all of whom are residents of Ahmedabad city. Earlier this month, bullion trader Mehul Thakkar had filed a complaint at Navrangpura police station, saying that on September 24, he was duped by giving him 26 bundles of fake Rs 500 notes in exchange for 2.1 kg of gold.

The accused had contacted Thakkar to buy gold and fixed a price of Rs 1.60 crore, which was to be paid in cash at his Angadiya office on CG Road. Thakkar’s employees reached the office on September 24, where three people were already present with a cash counting machine. Two of them collected gold and handed over bundles of Rs 500 notes. After this, they left with the gold on the pretext of bringing the remaining Rs 30 lakh from the adjacent office.
