A heart-wrenching case has come to light in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Police have arrested an army jawan for allegedly murdering his girlfriend. The accused carried out the entire incident in Bollywood film Drishyam style. He first murdered his girlfriend and then after burying her, covered the body with cement. The gist of the incident is that he met a divorced girl through a matrimonial site. He fell in love with the girl but his family members were not ready for the marriage and got him married to someone else. After marriage he wanted to get rid of his girlfriend.
Police started investigating the case after the 32-year-old victim went missing on August 28. Police officials said the alleged love story ended with betrayal, deceit and a horrific crime. Loved a divorced woman, family got him married to another woman
The accused person has been identified as Ajay Wankhede (33). He is a resident of Kailash Nagar area of Nagpur and is currently posted in Nagaland. According to police, Ajay met divorcee Jyotsna Akre through a marriage portal and their friendship soon turned into a romantic relationship. However, things took a turn for the worse when Ajay’s family opposed his marriage and got him married to another woman, the officer said.

The officer said that Ajay had started ignoring the girl. He has planned the murder to get rid of his alleged girlfriend. Ajay is accused of drugging Jyotsna, killing her by strangulating her and then burying her body at an isolated place in Nagpur district. To hide the crime, he also tried to cover the body with cement, the officer said.
When Wankhede stopped responding to Akre’s phone calls, she started searching for him and managed to contact one of his close friends, who informed about his (Wankhede’s) whereabouts. Police said the friend also told Wankhede that Akre was looking for him. “Worried about his married life, Wankhede called Akre from his mother’s mobile phone and asked him to meet her at Wardha Road on August 28,” the officer said.
Murder incident in Drishyam film style
Akre told her family that she was staying with a friend that day and would return home after finishing her work the next day. She worked in an automobile shop. Wankhede and Akre met in Wardha Road area and stayed in a hotel. Later, they left the hotel and reached a nearby toll plaza, where he made Akre drink a drink mixed with intoxicants. After Akre became unconscious, Wankhede strangled him to death and took the body to an isolated area. There he dug a pit in the dark of night, dumped her body and covered it with cement. According to police, he later threw Akre’s mobile phone into a truck passing through Wardha Road.
How did the police reach the accused?
When Akre did not return home, her family lodged a missing report with the Beltarodi police on August 29. Investigation was initiated and a case of kidnapping was registered on 17 September. During the investigation, when the police checked the call detail records, it was found that there were regular phone conversations between Wankhede and Akre. Police said that Wankhede was called for questioning. Meanwhile, Wankhede applied for anticipatory bail in the Sessions Court in Nagpur, but his plea was rejected. After this he approached the High Court, there too his petition was rejected on 15 September. After the anticipatory bail was rejected, Beltarodi police arrested Wankhede.
During interrogation, Wankhede confessed to the crime. He led the police to the crime scene. The police forensic team has taken out the body parts near Dongargaon Toll Plaza on Wardha Road in Nagpur.
