Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have condemned the killing of the laborer in Shopian. Ashok Chauhan was a resident of Bihar and had gone to Jammu and Kashmir for labour. On Friday, terrorists shot him dead in Shopian district. LG Manoj Sinha has expressed grief over the incident in a post written on Twitter. He wrote that I condemn this act of cowardly terrorists. He said that the entire country is with Ashok’s family in this hour of grief. Our security forces will very soon kill the culprits and provide justice to Ashok. At the same time, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that these attacks are disgusting and should be strongly condemned.
LG Manoj Sinha wrote in his post that Ashok’s family and friends are very sad at this time. I have given instructions to Jammu Kashmir Police and district administration. He has been asked to provide all necessary assistance to Ashok’s family. Ashok Chauhan, a resident of Banka district of Bihar, was shot dead by terrorists in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. His bullet-riddled body was recovered from Wachi area of Shopian. The killing of the non-local came two days after Omar took oath as the chief minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Omar condemned the attack on Saturday.
Omar wrote in a post on X that he was very sad to hear about the death of Ashok Chauhan at the hands of terrorists in South Kashmir. These attacks are despicable and should be condemned in the strongest possible terms. I express my condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased. Earlier on October 9, security forces recovered the body of a soldier. This soldier was kidnapped from Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir. According to sources, the soldier has been identified as Hilal Ahmed Bhat. The bullet-riddled body was recovered from the forest areas of Anantnag.
