A case of attempted rape of a Haryanvi artiste who had come to meet a friend and attack on her protestors has come to light in Ghaziabad’s Nandgram police station area. The woman has accused a friend of her friend of carrying out the incident. According to the victim, the accused tried to murder her by strangulating her and also beat up the people who came to save her. On Sunday, Ghaziabad police registered a case on the complaint of the victim and arrested the accused.
The woman says that she is a Haryanvi artist and makes video songs. On October 17, she had come to meet her friend Sagar, who lives in the society of Rajnagar Extension. When she reached her friend’s flat, Sagar’s friend Akash was also there, who was in an inebriated state. The woman alleges that on October 18, Akash came to the flat again.
He started commenting on her and pressurizing her to have physical relations. When she refused, the accused beat her and tried to kill her by strangulating her. According to the victim, when some people heard the noise and came to save her, the accused attacked them too. Accused Akash also had a weapon.
Serious allegations against the police: The victim says that she sat in the Nandgram police station from 10 am to 4 pm on October 19, but the police did not take any action. During this time, not only the men but also the women policemen misbehaved with her and threw her out of the women’s aid booth. After this, when the police brought the accused to the police station, some local leaders were also with him. They also put pressure on him in front of the police. Seeing the working style of the police, he had to upload his video on social media. After this the police registered a case.

The woman says that she locked herself in the room to escape and Akash broke the door. During this time he made a video of it in his mobile. On this the accused snatched away his mobile phone. According to the woman, after this Akash left. On the morning of 19 October, she was sleeping when Akash again came to the flat and assaulted her. While making a video on her mobile, she reached the police and narrated her ordeal.
Acting ACP Nandgram Ajay Kumar Singh said, “On the complaint of the woman, a case of attempt to murder, sexual assault, attempt to robbery, assault and physical violence has been registered against the accused youth and he has been arrested.” The accused youth works in the maintenance department of the society itself. Action is being taken in the matter.
