Uttarakhand news: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officials during the Housing Department meeting at the Secretariat on Thursday that the benefits of EWS (Urban) houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana should be verified again. He said that it should be ensured that only eligible people get the benefit of the scheme. Strict action should be taken against those who take advantage of the scheme in the wrong way. Whatever housing allotment should be done under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, it should be ensured that only eligible people get the eligible people.
The Chief Minister said that the work of master plan of various cities under the state should be accelerated. Along with the master plan, the capacity of cities should also be assessed. Along with water conservation in the city areas, attention should also be paid to plantation. It should be ensured that construction works are done in line with maps passed by authorities in urban areas. Special attention should also be paid to water harvesting and greenery in building and society construction works. He said that strict work should be done to remove encroachments. Keeping in mind the facilities of the common man, maps of houses should be passed within the stipulated time.
Instructions to work fast
The Chief Minister directed to work rapidly towards developing one new cities in both the mandals of the state. These cities should be clubbed with a sprigal zone. The Chief Minister also directed to assess the demand for housing for all sections, estimate future requirements and develop concrete action plan accordingly. He also instructed to make proper use of land in cities, redevelopment of crowded areas as per requirement.
Principal Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram said that the Housing Development Department is working on 8 game changer schemes. He said that in view of the increasing population in the state, parking construction works are being done at 191 places, including 109 multilevel, 10 tunnels, 63 surfaces and 9 automated parking. Construction work of 48 parking has been completed, while 47 work is moving.
In the meeting, the infrastructure Monitoring Council Vice President Vishwas Dabur, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary R.K. Of. Sudhanshu, Vice President MDDA Banshidhar Tiwari, Additional Chief Executive Officer CPPGG Manoj Pant and other officers were present.
