The police took major action on Friday, two days after a stampede in the victory procession after the victory of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. Police arrested RCB’s Nikhil Sojale and event management company DNA’s Sunil Matthew from Kamegowda International Airport. Apart from this, the police have also detained two more people, whose role is under investigation. Earlier on Thursday, the police had registered a case against RCB, DNA event company and Karnataka State Cricket Association regarding the incident.
Arrest order
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had clearly told the police that the responsible people who need should be arrested. According to the police, some officials of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) are still absconding and their search is on. The stampede occurred when thousands of people gathered in and around the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Many people were injured and some died due to non -control of the crowd properly.
Many officers were suspended
On Thursday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah took a big decision and Bangalore City Police Commissioner B.K. Several senior officials including Dayanand suspended. He clearly stated that those who defraud the mistake and security of the administration will not be released. At the same time, the Karnataka High Court has raised the matter on this incident and asked the state government to submit a full report by June 10. The court said that this incident is very serious and negligence in the safety of the public cannot be ignored.
Former High Court judge Michael Kunha will investigate
After the cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister while talking to the media said that the incident will be investigated by former High Court Judge Michael Kunha. The government has created a judicial commission that will investigate the mistakes made in mob management, planning and work. This commission will submit its report in 30 days. This tragic incident of Bengaluru has shook the entire country. People are demanding strict action against the culprits on social media. The government has assured that the victims will get justice and the culprits will be punished.
