The dates of assembly elections in Maharashtra may be announced in the next few days. Earlier, a tussle over seat sharing has started between the ruling Mahayuti alliance in the state. Out of total 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra, there are 47 for which NDA has not been able to take a decision yet. According to the report of Economic Times, the senior BJP leader said that discussions were held with different leaders from Maharashtra to Delhi. During this period, agreement was reached on most of the seats in the state but there is a dilemma on 47 seats. He said that there are still 47 seats which are being claimed by more than one party among the allies. However, sources said that most of these seats are such where the matter is between Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) and NCP (Ajit Pawar). The responsibility of solving this also broadly rests with two parties.
According to the report, sources said that BJP will contest 140 to 150 seats out of 288 seats. Shiv Sena can field its candidates on 80 to 90 seats and NCP on 40 to 50 seats. It is being told that BJP will be seen contesting elections in all the areas of the state. The remaining two allies can contest for more seats in their respective areas of influence. The three parties have also appointed coordinators on each assembly seat, whose job is to create coordination among themselves. At the same time, BJP has formed a team of leaders and workers from different states. BJP leaders from Telangana and Chhattisgarh have been made in-charge of Marathwada region, which has 46 assembly seats. Leaders from Madhya Pradesh have been deployed for 62 seats in Vidarbha region.

A group of Karnataka BJP leaders and office bearers have been deployed on 58 seats in Western Maharashtra. Gujarat BJP leaders have been given the responsibility of 47 seats in North Maharashtra and Mumbai. At the same time, Goa leaders are working in the Konkan region. It is known that there are 75 assembly seats including Mumbai and Konkan region. These leaders have been given the responsibility to conduct ground survey on issues like party’s prospects, potential candidates in every assembly seat. Also, feedback has to be gathered from local party workers. It is being told that by October 15, these in-charges will submit their reports regarding each seat to the party high command. On this basis only, the name of the candidate for each assembly seat will be finalized.
