According to the leaders, during the first five days, Bhagwat will meet RSS leaders and local influential persons in Kolkata and discuss the strengthening of the organization’s structure and ensuring its functionality. On February 11, Bhagwat will take a break before starting a tour of the districts of South Bengal.
According to the information given by the RSS, Bhagwat will visit several districts including Burdwan. A public rally is likely to be held here on 16 February. They will also meet regional RSS leaders, local activists and prominent persons from Burdwan and surrounding areas. The main objective of his visit will be to promote values such as patriotism, self-reliance, family values, environmental protection and socialization through family-oriented practices. These meetings will focus on organizational development, community contact and strengthening relationships between RSS leadership and local stakeholders. Earlier, there was a meeting on these issues in Kerala as well.
Will meet with officials
According to RSS General Secretary Jishnu Basu, Bhagwat will first come to West Bengal from Kerala. Basu said that from 7 to 10 February, Bhagwat will hold a meeting with the RSS officials in the South Bengal region, including East-West Medinipur, Howrah, Kolkata and 24 Parganas. On 13 February, he will visit the areas of Central Bengal, including Bankura, Purulia, Birbhum, East-West Bardhaman and Nadia. An important part of the journey will also be inaugurated on 11-12 February and a new RSS office in Central Bengal on 14 February.
How important is according to politics
At the same time, while answering the questions made in the upcoming elections in Bengal, Basu clarified that the RSS is not a political organization. He said, “This journey and related meetings were already scheduled and their purpose was not to affect the state assembly elections of 2026, especially.” However, political analysts believe that the RSS has played an important role in the BJP’s electoral strategies, and Bhagwat’s visit can be seen in the context of the upcoming assembly elections. However, it is being speculated that Bhagwat’s stay will make the BJP’s path easier in the elections of Bengal.
