MP Police on Wednesday registered an FIR against Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut for allegedly making misleading remarks on ‘Laadli Brahmin Yojana’. Bhopal Crime Branch registered the case on Wednesday evening following a complaint lodged by BJP Mahila Morcha District Unit President Vandana Jachak and Vice President Sushma Chauhan. Deputy Commissioner of Police Akhil Patel gave this information.
Deputy Commissioner of Police said that Bhopal Crime Branch registered the case after the complaint lodged by BJP Mahila Morcha District Unit President Vandana Jachak and Vice President Sushma Chauhan. Sanjay Raut had claimed that the Madhya Pradesh government’s Ladli Behna scheme has been discontinued as it is only a political game. He had also mentioned a similar scheme launched in Maharashtra to provide financial help to women.
Meanwhile, Additional DCP Shailendra Singh Chauhan of Bhopal Crime Branch said that we had received a complaint that some leaders are trying to spread misinformation about the policies of the government. We have taken cognizance of the complaint in this regard. We have registered a case against Sanjay Raut on this complaint under sections 353 (2) (disseminating statements containing false information) and 356 (2) (defamation) of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS).
The complainants have accused Sanjay Raut of deliberately giving such a misleading statement. The FIR states that Raut’s statement is aimed at tarnishing the image of Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav and also to hurt the sentiments of women beneficiaries. The Shiv Sena (UBT) MP has given this misleading statement as part of a conspiracy to disrupt the law and order situation and create discontent through misinformation.
It is noteworthy that the Eknath Shinde-led Mahayuti government in Maharashtra had launched ‘Mukhyamantri Manjhi Ladki Behan Yojana’ in August on the lines of the scheme of Madhya Pradesh government. Under this scheme, eligible women aged 21 to 65 years are given financial assistance of Rs 1,500 every month. ‘Laadli Brahmin Yojana’ was started by the then Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav posted on ‘X’ on Wednesday – Sanjay Raut, Madhya Pradesh, come and see. Ever since the Laadli Behna Scheme was started, Samman Rashi is being sent every month to the accounts of 1.29 crore sisters of the state. Fearing defeat in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Uddhav Thackeray’s party wants to mislead the sisters, to which the sisters will answer in the Maharashtra elections.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav wrote – Certainly this scheme will prove to be an unprecedented step for women empowerment in Maharashtra also. Madhya Pradesh government transferred this month’s amount to the bank accounts of women beneficiaries under Ladli Brahmin Yojana on the occasion of Rani Durgavati Jayanti on October 5. CM Mohan Yadav appealed to the people not to believe Raut’s statement.
