A major accident has occurred in Kheda district of Gujarat today. Here 6 members of the same family drowned in the river on Wednesday evening, most of which were cousins and sisters. Police said the incident took place in Kaneez village. Kheda Superintendent of Police Rajesh Gadhiya said, “Six persons who were 14-21 years of age or siblings of relationship-went to bathe in the Meshwo River, in which they drowned. Among them were four girls and two boys. All six bodies have been removed. ”

He said that two of the 6 dead were residents of Kaneez village and four were siblings of their relationship who came to meet Ahmedabad and spend holidays. Officials said that after receiving information about the incident, a team of Ahmedabad Police and Fire Department reached the spot and started a rescue operation.
