Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has sanctioned Rs 11 thousand crore for the development of National Highway in Chhattisgarh.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday approved Rs 11,000 crore for the development of four major national highways in Chhattisgarh. The Minister made this announcement during a review meeting with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai at Bharat Mandapam here today. In the review meeting, efforts were made to remove the obstacles by discussing all the pending issues.
Money approved for these highways
The progress of national highways was discussed in the meeting. Along with this, approval was given to prepare detailed project reports for four major highways. The four main projects discussed in the meeting include Urga-Katghora Bypass, Basna to Sarangarh (Manikpur) feeder route, Sarangarh to Raigarh feeder route and Raipur-Lakhnadon Economic Corridor. The total length of these projects is 236.1 kilometers. The Union Minister has approved a total of Rs 9208 crore for these projects. Apart from this, four lane widening work of Keshkal Ghat and Dhamtari-Jagdalpur road was also approved.
Additional amount of Rs 1200 crore approved
Instructions were given to complete Raipur-Vishakhapatnam road and Bilaspur-Urga-Pathalgaon road within the time limit under NHAI. Whereas instructions were given to determine the agency for Pathalgaon to Kunkuri-Jharkhand border road within a month. At the same time, consent was given to build grade separator between Tatibandh to Telibandha in Raipur city and grade separator on the road connecting Vidhansabha Road to Bilaspur Road (Dhaneli) and Raipur Expressway. Apart from this, additional amount of Rs 1200 crore has been approved for the development of roads.
CM himself will monitor the scheme
The Chief Minister said that he would personally monitor the progress of these projects and would call for its report every week, so that there is no delay in the work. He said that the Chhattisgarh government will complete these projects with full dedication within the time limit, which will provide better infrastructure facilities to the citizens of the state and speed up the pace of development.
