Bihar Politics: Lights of shining flyover on the streets of Patna, double lane bridge flying over the Ganges, the dazzling of the new terminal of the airport and the plans – are feeling something like this in these days as if Vikas has caught the rocket, not speed. But is this really a development -changing development, or is it all just an election spectacle? Is this “double engine” government leading Bihar towards the future or is it part of the political strategy of the vote bank?
Patna is becoming Delhi?
Till a few years ago, who was known for dirt, jam and bad infrastructure, Patna has become a witness to the country’s first double decker flyover today. This flyover, built from Kargil Chowk to Science College for Rs 422 crore, is showing a new dream – “New Patna”. But this dream is not limited to flyover just. Whether it is Mithapur-Mahuli Elevated Road or the last phase of JP Ganga Road, the new building of 1117 beds of PMCH or the shining new terminal of JP International Airport-the capital of Bihar-Bihar’s capital has suddenly started getting millions of plans. And if any face is seen the most on the occasion of the inauguration, inauguration or foundation stone of all this, then it is – Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Rain of money or rain of votes?
Between February and June, schemes of 85 thousand crore rupees have been given to Bihar in just four months. Announcement of 48 thousand crores from Bikramganj, 5,900 crores from Siwan and hundreds of schemes from different districts. It seems as if along with the knock of elections, the Ganges of development has also started flowing in Bihar. The shocking thing is that Prime Minister Modi visited Bihar four times in just four months and brought crores of gifts every time. At the same time, Nitish Kumar has tried to show the foundation stone of schemes in 26 different programs and try to show that “Bihar will change now, and will change from the same government, which is the first chance and is trying to improve the opportunity.”
Development flows in the election Ganges?
How does the general public look at this whole incident? On the one hand, while many people are excited about this change, some people have a shadow of doubt. The question arises – if so much can be done for Bihar, then why did it not happen before? Why were these schemes not completed earlier? And do the leaders miss people at the time of elections? Experts also believe that this sudden rapid flow of schemes in Bihar is part of electoral cleverness. Political analysts call it “packaging” – such a product is packed attractive so that the customer ie voters are forced to buy it.
Return of Nitish or BJP’s lady?
This time the election has become a question of credibility not only of seats. This is the opportunity for the BJP to validate its ‘double engine’ model, while for Nitish Kumar, this fight is to re -get its lost support base. But in the meantime the real question is – will the public be enlightened by these gleaming schemes, or will they question the real issues of unemployment, inflation and corruption?
The public is asking – when will the real face of development be seen?
Drainage, water supply, urban development, STP plant, medical colleges – all these schemes cost thousands of crores. But did these schemes affect the ground? Did the life of the common man change? Or have these plans become a medium to write names only on stone? The votes season has started, the orgy of announcements continues, and Bihar has once again become the biggest theater of ‘Political Landscape’. While every leader is in the race to become the hero of development, the public is trying to recognize the real villain – who sell dreams in promises, but in reality snatches even sleep.
