Bihar Flood News: According to the information, Champaran embankment has broken due to the pressure of water of Gandak river. This information spread panic among people all around. The strong current of Gandak has started spreading in a dozen panchayats of Bagaha-1 block.

Bihar Flood News: Due to heavy rains in Nepal and the catchment area, the overflowing Gandak has started creating havoc. After 4 pm on Sunday evening, the Champaran embankment of Gandak broke by 30 to 40 feet near Daroga Chowk of Agastiya on Chakhani Rajwatiya-Ratwal road of Bagaha-1 block. Due to this, Gandak water has started rapidly entering a dozen panchayats of the block. Here in Thadi village, Man Bahadur Mukhiya (50), who had gone out for a short hike at night, died due to drowning in water. Which was confirmed by city police station incharge Sanjay Kumar. At the same time, the danger of flood is looming over four panchayats of Yogapatti.

People are running towards higher ground with materials, goods and cattle. It is estimated that 1.5 lakh people of both the blocks will be affected by this. On receiving the information, senior officials including Bagaha SDM Gaurav Kumar reached the spot and started relief work. SDRF team is busy in evacuating people from the affected areas of both the blocks. There was an outcry in the villages as soon as the information about the embankment breach was received. He is running towards a higher place to escape from where he is. Many people have taken shelter on the roofs and thatched roofs of their houses.

According to the information, Champaran embankment has broken due to the pressure of water of Gandak river. This information spread panic among people all around. The strong current of Gandak has started spreading in a dozen panchayats of Bagaha-1 block. Water is spreading in Chandrapur Bakwa, Badgaon, Belwa Pipariya, Dumariya, Patilar, Ratwal Lagunha, Bhathaiya, Bhedihari, Khairtwa of the block. The administration has started evacuating the people here. Siswa Mangalpur, Chaumukha, Dhadhwa and Jalarpur Khutwaniya of Yogapatti will be affected by this.

From here, people are leaving with the help of boats and going towards a safe place. Singari Pipariya Panchayat head Archana Pandey and Ward-15 member Bhatuman Yadav said that the situation is frightening. Due to the breach of embankment, an atmosphere of chaos has been created all around. People are being sent to safe places.

Safety dam of Oriya-Sikta river broken in Sikta

Sikta, Suryapur and Balrampur villages were submerged due to the surge in Sikta and Oriya rivers. The western embankment of the Sikta river collapsed on Sunday. The embankment of Sikta river broke by 30 to 40 feet between Athaisalkha bridge of Ghorasahan canal of Sikta and Chhathiya Ghat of Sikta village. Even after the embankment is broken, the river water is overflowing and entering the village rapidly. Here, the security embankment east of Suryapur, the meeting place of Sikta and Oriya rivers, broke 40 feet. Due to this, water flow of more than six feet has started flowing in Suryapur and Balrampur villages. Due to breach of the embankment of Sikta river, water has entered the houses of dozens of people in Sikta village. Balrampur village has been submerged. There is less water in the high school.

More than four dozen including K Samshul Dewan, Jagati Mian, Pannlal Das, Suresh Baitha, Chhotu Patel, Mukhtar Dewan, Dukhi Dewan, Nasruddin Dewan, Jamil Akhtar Dewan, Dharampur’s Chokat Devi, Parmeshwar Prasad, Raj Kumar, Mangal Paswan, Shivbalak Ibrahim. Water has entered people’s homes. At the same time, Suryapur and Balrampur villages have been surrounded by flood water due to the breaking of the safety dam of Sikta-Oriya river. Paddy grown in the villages of Bhawanipur and Kursibarwa, Sikta village, Ghagad Toli, Hasanpura Bardahi, Dharampur, Puraniya, Sadbhavka and Dhutahan from the water of Sabaithwa, Bahuarwa, Maswas, Basantpur, Maswas, Majar river, Gauchari, Parsauni, Baishkhwa and Dakahi etc. The crop has failed.
