People are owed Rs 51 billion from different departments in six districts of Patna division. The maximum outstanding of Rs 14 billion is in Rohtas and in second place Rs 7 billion is outstanding in Patna district. Now money will be recovered from such people. If not given, a warrant will also be issued. Divisional Commissioner Mayank Varwade gave this instruction in a meeting with officials of Patna division on Wednesday. The Commissioner reviewed the progress in the auction paper case in all the six districts and took information about the action being taken in this direction. He said huge sums of money from government departments, banks and other agencies are involved in the auction paper promises. This is worrisome.
All DMs were instructed to appoint a senior officer of the level of Additional Collector as the senior nodal officer or nodal officer for the auction paper case in their respective districts. Also asked to regularly review the progress of execution of promises. The Commissioner directed the officials to settle the five biggest defaulters and five oldest cases on priority within a week. The officials empowered with the auction papers were asked to attend court at least two days a week for speedy disposal of the cases.
Maximum outstanding of banks in six districts is Rs 37 billion
Six districts under Patna division have the maximum outstanding of Rs 37 billion with banks. Rs 11 billion have also not been paid to different departments. Most of these include loans taken under various schemes. Amounts related to electricity, industry, road construction and social welfare departments are also to be recovered.
