After the video of harassment of Bihari candidates in Siliguri went viral, Bihar Police has written a letter to West Bengal demanding to ensure the safety of all Bihari students.

In Siliguri, West Bengal, the issue of harassment of two students from Bihar who had come to appear for SSC examination by local youth Rajat Bhattacharya is a hot topic. After its video went viral, a letter was written to West Bengal Police on behalf of Bihar Police Headquarters. Bihar’s ADG (Law and Order) has written a letter to his counterpart police officer in West Bengal demanding to ensure the safety of Bihari students studying there. He also urged for strict action in the Siliguri case. After contacting Bihar Police, Siliguri Police also arrested Rajat Bhattacharya, accused of misbehaving with Biharis, on Thursday evening.
ADG (Law and Order) said in a letter to Bengal Police that a video from Siliguri is going viral. In this, two students are being harassed and prevented from appearing in the examination. He also forwarded the clip of the viral video on the mobile phone of the ADG of Bengal Police. Also, through the letter, he sought information about the steps taken for the safety of Bihari students in West Bengal and the action taken on the Siliguri case. A copy of this letter has also been sent to Siliguri Police Commissioner.

Earlier, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar called Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena and DGP Alok Raj after taking information on the incident in West Bengal and directed to take immediate action. RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav also spoke to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on phone and demanded action against the culprit of this incident.

In this video going viral, two youths are seen being threatened by another person. Both the tortured youths are residents of Bihar and had gone to Siliguri to appear for the SSC exam. The accused who tortured them, Rajat Bhattacharya, is a member of an organization named Bengal Lakho. He is asking both the candidates why they came from Bihar to West Bengal to appear for the examination. He forced both of them to apologize by doing sit-ups. He misbehaved with him and threatened him never to come to Bengal.
