Aam Aadmi Party (Gujarat unit) leaders demonstrated outside a police station in Kutch district in Gujarat. The leaders demonstrated this against the link of the main accused of conducting fake raids in the name of Enforcement Directorate (ED) with the party. The police had claimed that the main accused in the case had provided funds for the activities of AAP and had met several party leaders. Aam Aadmi Party state president Isudan Gadhvi, national joint secretary Gopal Italia, MLA Hemant Khawa and many workers of the organization marched towards Gandhidham B-Division police station. They held banners in their hands and were raising slogans against state Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi. Party leaders asked him not to implicate him in a false case to target AAP.
AAP demonstrated after Harsh Sanghvi’s post
‘AAP’ has done this demonstration after a post made by Harsh Sanghvi on the social media platform ‘X’. Sanghvi had said in the post, “Abdul Sattar (who was part of the fake ED team arrested by the police) is the general secretary of AAP.” Sanghvi had said, “Another achievement of Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party! A party leader in Gujarat formed a fake ED team and looted people by becoming its captain! Fake ED team commander caught in Kutch. Aam Aadmi Party leader in Gujarat The leader turned out to be! This is the proof of the misdeeds of Kejriwal’s supporter.
What is the allegation?
The police had arrested a total of 12 people including Abdul Sattar Majothi in this case on December 4. These people are accused of raiding Gandhidham on December 2 in a filmy style by posing as fake ED officers and looting jewelery worth Rs 22.25 lakh.
A day after Sanghvi’s post on Had provided funds for party activities. Superintendent of Police Bagmar said that if necessary, Aam Aadmi Party leaders can be called for questioning.
‘I have come to answer all the baseless allegations’
AAP national joint secretary Gopal Italia said outside the police station, “About 10 days after his arrest in the fake ED case, the Superintendent of Police came forward as an agent of the BJP and made false allegations that the main accused used to give money to Gopal Italia. “I have come here to seek clarification. Whatever the SP said is a lie and he should not work as an agent of BJP.”
The AAP leader said, “Even though the police did not call me for questioning, I have come on my own and appeared before the police because I am innocent and have not committed any crime. I have come to answer all the baseless allegations.” (Input PTI)
