Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh’s troubles may increase. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded that an FIR be lodged against him in connection with the alleged ‘abusive’ remarks made by Digvijay Singh about its Madhya Pradesh unit chief V.D. Sharma.
A delegation led by BJP’s Bhopal unit chief Sumit Pachauri met officials of the local crime branch of police and demanded registration of an FIR against the Congress leader for allegedly using the word ‘impotence’.
Sumit Pachauri said, “Digvijay Singh has deliberately used abusive language against Khajuraho Lok Sabha member V.D. Sharma to tarnish his image and incite his workers to start agitations to disturb law and order during Ganeshotsav. We have demanded that a case be registered against Singh under sections 356, 356 (1) and 352 of the Indian Penal Code.”
Let us tell you that, while addressing a press conference on Saturday, Congress leader Digvijay Singh had said, “Despite having a ‘triple engine’ government at the center, state and municipal corporation and local body level, if he (Sharma) calls me an accomplice of terrorists and still does not take any action against me, then I am disappointed with his impotence.”
Sharma hit back, saying Singh not only supports terrorists but is also trying to deprive the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes of their rights through the politics of appeasement.
Sharma said in a press release that Digvijay Singh’s language is unacceptable. Sharma hit back at the Congress leader and said, “I challenge your manliness over your appeasement efforts. I will not use such cheap and cheap words.”
