Abdul Sattar Manjothi with Arvind Kejriwal
Gujarat minister and BJP leader Harsh Sanghvi on Friday said one of the people arrested in connection with a fake Enforcement Directorate raid in Kutch district earlier this month is the “general secretary” of the Aam Aadmi Party, although the Arvind Kejriwal-led party Has denied this allegation. On December 4, Kutch-East Police had arrested 12 people including Abdul Sattar Manjothi for conducting a film-style fake ED raid in Gandhidham. Jewelery worth Rs 22.25 lakh was stolen during the raid. The fake raid was conducted on the premises of a jeweler on December 2.
Gujarat Minister of State for Home Sanghvi said in a post on social media platform ‘X’, “Abdul Sattar (who was part of the fake ED team arrested by the police) is the official general secretary of AAP.” Sanghvi said, “Another achievement of Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party! A party leader in Gujarat created a fake ED team and looted people by becoming its captain! Fake ED team commander caught in Kutch. Leader of the Aam Aadmi Party in Gujarat. Turns out this is the proof of the misdeeds of Kejriwal’s supporters.”
Shared pictures with Kejriwal
Harsh Sanghvi also shared pictures of Manjothi with Kejriwal and Gujarat AAP president Isudan Gadhvi. Hitting back, AAP leader Gopal Italia said that a person holding the post of state home minister should not politicize a crime just to get benefits. “Our party had already taken Manjothi’s resignation after learning about his activities. But, I am surprised that the Home Minister came to know about the political affiliation of the accused person ten days after his arrest,” Italia said. It is clear that a crime is being used to fulfill a political agenda.” (Input- PTI language)
