Incidents of murder due to petty disputes are coming to light in Bihar. Matters get worse over small issues. The latest case is from Madhubani where a person was murdered in a dispute over water drainage. The victim of the murder was a Panch from Vyastiya area who had come to resolve the dispute over water drainage. Police have arrested three people in this case, including two women. Police is taking further action. There is tension in the area due to the incident. Police patrolling has been increased.
The incident took place in Barapatti village of Lalmania police station area. There was a dispute over the drainage of water from the field, to resolve which the elderly Panch Lakhan Yadav (68) was called. Efforts were being made to reconcile the two parties, but things got worse. People from one side attacked Panch Lakhan Yadav. He was beaten so badly with the handle of a spade that he died on the spot. Lakhan Yadav was a resident of Barapatti.
First punishment in a case registered under Indian Penal Code in the country, life imprisonment for murder
The villagers immediately informed the police about this incident. The police reached the village and took stock of the situation. Taking immediate action, three people from one side were arrested in this case. Among them, a man Ram Udgar Yadav, his wife Heera Devi and daughter Chandan Kumari have been arrested and sent to jail in judicial custody.
In this case, SHO Bipin Kumar Yadav said that Ram Udgar Yadav had a quarrel with his neighbor Jholi Yadav over the issue of water drainage from the field. Ram Udgar called Lakhan Yadav to the field as a Panch. During this, a fierce fight broke out between the two parties. Lakhan Yadav tried to intervene. In this sequence, Ram Udgar attacked him with the handle of a spade. Seriously injured Lakhan died on the spot. As soon as the information was received, Lalmaniya took the body in its custody and sent it to Madhubani for postmortem. Three people including two women related to the case were arrested from the spot. SHO Bipin Kumar Yadav said that raids are being conducted to arrest other people related to the case.
