This 25-year-old mosque is located on 90 feet road in Dharavi. The Muslim community says that this mosque is very old. Apart from this, there is a need for a prayer place after the ban on offering namaz on the streets. No one has any personal benefit from this mosque. The name of the mosque is Mehboob-e-Subaniya Mosque.
Seeing the growing uproar in Dharavi, Congress MP Varsha Gaikwad met Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Milind Deora was also present with her. Both demanded intervention in this matter. They said that an order should be given to stop the action of BMC. This is not the first such case. Earlier, uproar was seen in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, when the illegal part of the mosque was demolished. Tension prevailed for many days regarding this.
