Brain dead person gave new life to 7 people in Surat
Surat: Today in Surat, seven people got new life by donating heart, kidney, liver and eyes from a brain dead person. Nilesh Mandlewala, head of Donate Life organization, said that Hitesh Kachariya, living in Vishalnagar Society, Katargam, Surat, was admitted to a private hospital on December 10 due to headache, vomiting and difficulty in walking. During treatment, it was found that due to brain hemorrhage and swelling in the brain, doctors declared him brain dead on 16 December.
These people got new life
After this, the importance of organ donation was explained to his family that even after death, a brain dead person can save the lives of needy people. After the consent of the family, the process of organ donation was started. The donated heart was transplanted into a 47-year-old man living in Mahesana, Gujarat at SIMS Hospital in Ahmedabad. Lungs were donated to a 60-year-old man from Delhi, liver transplant was done to a 37-year-old man in Gurgaon, Haryana, two kidneys were donated to two needy people at Kiran Hospital in Surat and eyes were donated to Lok Drishti Eye Bank in Surat.

Green corridor built from hospital to Surat airport
To transport the heart and lungs to Ahmedabad and Haryana, two green corridors were created by Surat Police from the hospital to Surat Airport. In this way a brain dead person gave new life to seven people. So far, 1272 organs and tissues have been donated by Donate Life organization from South Gujarat including Surat.

Donate Life organization said that due to the efforts made by it, different people have donated 409 eyes. This has given new life and light to a total of 1169 people in the country and abroad.
