Mahisagar river bridge collapse: A bridge over the Mahisagar river in Gujarat suddenly broke. In this accident, a part of the bridge collapsed, causing many vehicles to fall directly into the river. So far 9 people have been reported to have died, while many people have been rescued. Relief and rescue work continues fast. The bridge was 43 years old. This Gambhir bridge connecting Vadodara and Anand broke down when there was heavy traffic. A video of this incident is going viral on social media, in which a truck is seen hanging on a half -broken bridge. Rescue work is still going on. An official said that the accident happened around 7:30 am. Four vehicles, including two trucks and a pickup van, fell into the Mahisagar river due to the bridge break. Three people have been rescued.
PM Modi announced compensation
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over a bridge in Vadodara in Gujarat. Sharing the post on social media, he said, “Many people lost their lives due to a bridge falling in Vadodara. CM ordered an inquiry
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel mourned the deaths in the Gambhira bridge accident and ordered an inquiry into the incident. He said that this tragic accident has happened due to the fall of a part of the Gambhira bridge connecting Anand and Vadodara. I pray for those killed in this accident. 9 dead bodies recovered
Vadodara Collector Anil Dhelia said that the rescue operation was started from this morning. Local swimmers and municipal teams immediately reached the spot. So far 9 bodies have been recovered. 6 people were injured in this accident, and another injured person was found some time ago, who has been sent to the hospital for treatment.

Police and local people are present on the spot. Fire brigade teams have also reached. Traffic in the area has been affected due to the accident. The police have turned the vehicles on the other side. It is being told that this bridge is usually notorious to commit suicide and is also known as ‘Suicide Point’.
Administration reached the spot, angry among people
The administration team immediately reached the spot after the Padra-Gambhira bridge accident in Gujarat. As soon as the people of Mujpur village came to know about the bridge falling, they reached the spot to help in relief and rescue work. Three of the vehicles falling in the Mahi river were rescued safely, but two people died in this tragic accident. 108 ambulances were called as soon as the accident was received. At present, the administration is present at the scene and the work of taking out the vehicles falling in the river is going on. The team of swimmers in the Mahi river is also engaged in the rescue operation.
Local people accused the administration of negligence
After the incident, the people of the area have accused the administration of serious negligence. People say that the bridge was in a shabby condition for many years and was demanded several times to repair it, but the officials ignored it. Local people say that this bridge connecting Vadodara and Anand was not worth heavy traffic, yet it was not closed. Despite warning, no concrete steps were taken and due to this negligence, it has now become a big accident.
Investigation starts
The Gujarat government has also sent teams of medical and engineers on the spot. The cause of the accident has not been ascertained yet, but it is being thoroughly investigated.
