It happened that the film’s story and inspired by centuries -old legends, the villagers in Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh attacked near the Asirgarh Fort as they were convinced that the Mughal Sona was pressed under the soil near the fort. The crowd was engaged in digging the fields till late in the night. Some people also brought metal detectors along with the hope of getting gold. The search for the treasure lasted from 7 pm to 3 am because after that the police came and dispersed the crowd.

A person posted on X about the incident on X, in which a video was shared by people digging in flashlight lights. It was written in the post – “After watching the Bollywood film Chhawa, the villagers started searching for gold after dawn near the Asirgarh Fort in Burhanpur (MP). With flashlight and metal detectors, they are digging the fields by believing the rumors of the Mughal-era treasures! ”

This video soon went viral and was viewed more than two lakh times. There was a flood of reactions on social media. However, the Asirgarh Fort associated with Mughal history has been a matter of rumors about the treasures hidden from the Marathas of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb for a long time. The “Chhawa” movie has again given air to these old stories. In the film “Chhava” directed by Laxman Utekar, Vicky Kaushal is playing the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Based on Shivaji Sawant’s prestigious Marathi novel Chhava, the film also stars Rashmika Mandana as Queen Yesubai, Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb, Ashutosh Rana as Sarasenaapati Hambirao Mohite and Neel Bhupalam as Rajkumar Akbar.
