Bus comes in contact with high tension wires in Moga, Punjab, two killed, 7 injured

A major accident took place during Nagar Kirtan in Kot Sadar Khan village of Moga, Punjab. The Palki Sahib bus of Sri Guru Granth Sahib got hit by the high tension wires passing overhead, due to which the bus got electrocuted. Two devotees died and seven people were injured after being hit by this current. The injured have been admitted to the private hospital in Kotisekhan. Police has started the investigation of the matter.

The accident caused chaos

The relatives of the patients admitted in the private hospital told that Nagar Kirtan was organized by the Management Committee of Gurudwara Akalgarh Sahib in the village itself. The sacred palanquin was decorated in a bus. As soon as Nagar Kirtan reached the middle of the village, the poles on top of the Palki Sahib touched the high tension wires, due to which the bus got electrocuted. During this time there was chaos there.

Two people died in the accident. Seven people have been injured, identified as Harjinder Kaur, Kuldeep Kaur, Surjeet Singh, Kuldeep Kaur, Joginder Kaur, Manjeet Kaur and Raj Kaur. The deceased have been identified as Joginder Kaur of Padri village and Ranjit Singh of Rodewal village in Firozpur. Police station Kotaise Khan in-charge Arshpreet Kaur said that action will be taken on the statement of the injured. Both the bodies will be handed over to their heirs after post-mortem. This incident has created a wave of mourning in the village and surrounding areas.
