Two armed force personnel have died in a firing incident by a colleague in Balrampur, Chhattisgarh. Two other personnel are also reported to be injured in the incident.

Two soldiers were killed and two others were injured when a soldier of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force opened fire from his service rifle in Chhattisgarh’s Balrampur district. The incident took place in Bhutahi village under Samari police station area of the district. Jawan Ajay Sardar opened fire from his service INSAS rifle in the camp of the 11th battalion of CAF this morning. Jawans Rupesh Patel and Sandeep Pandey died and soldiers Ambuj Shukla and Rahul Baghel were injured.
The soldier fired bullets indiscriminately
Officials said that in view of the Naxalite activities in the area bordering Jharkhand in Balrampur-Ramanujganj district, a CAF camp has been set up in Bhutahi village. The 11th battalion of CAF is deployed in the Bhutahi camp. According to officials, at around 11.30 am on Wednesday, CAF jawan Ajay Sidar started indiscriminate firing with the service INSAS rifle. Four jawans were shot in this incident. Jawan Rupesh Patel died on the spot due to bullet injuries. While three injured jawans were being taken to the hospital, Sandeep Pandey died on the way.
Interrogation of the jawan who opened fire continues
Inspector General of Police of Surguja region Ankit Garg said that the soldier Sidar who opened fire after the incident has been caught and is being questioned. Garg said that the injured soldiers have been admitted to the hospital. Their condition is out of danger.
