Mumbai local viral video: The controversy over a minor seat in Mumbai’s local train has now become a big linguistic issue. On Friday evening, a woman in a female compartment of the Central Line told another woman, “If you want to live in Mumbai, speak Marathi, otherwise get out.” The incident occurred when the train was very crowded and there was an argument about a seat among the women. During this time a woman commented on not speaking Marathi to another woman, which led to the increase in controversy.
It was seen in the video that 6-7 women were arguing about the seat and during this time there was talk about speaking Marathi, which caused the matter to become further hot. After this, the rest of the women also joined the debate. Now this video is becoming increasingly viral on social media and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police have started investigating the matter. Officials say that this matter has now become a matter of social and linguistic harmony.

Language dispute caught fire once again
After Mumbai’s local train incident, the ongoing language dispute in Maharashtra has once again gained momentum. Recently, there have been some cases of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists attacking non-Marathi speakers. This week, a shopkeeper was beaten up with a WhatsApp status in Vikhroli area of Mumbai. The shopkeeper was forced to publicly apologize. In addition, on 1 July, a street food vendor was slapped in Marathi in Thane for not talking in Marathi. The migrant auto driver in Palghar was also publicly beaten by MNS and Shiv Sena workers.
In Mumbai, the office of businessman Sushil Kedia was also vandalized, as he had talked about not learning Marathi. The video of the incident went viral, in which 5-6 people were seen throwing bricks in his office. A security personnel tried to stop him, but the attackers continued their actions. The businessman later had to issue an apology.
