Chhattisgarh news: A sensational case of negligence related to mid-day meal has come to light in Balodabazar district of Chhattisgarh. Students were served to the students at a government middle school in Lachhanpur, Palari block. After which 78 children have been given anti-rabies vaccine.
The dog stunned the food during the preparation of the mid-day meal
According to the information, the incident is on 29 July. During the preparation of mid-day meal, a Avara dog stunned the food. Some students told this to the teachers, on which the teachers refused to serve the food. But self-help group, which prepares mid-day meal, clearly ignored this warning and served contaminated food.
About 84 students ate this food. When the children told this at home, the guardian and the people of the village reached the school angry. Several villagers, including the Chairman of the School Management Committee Jhalendra Sahu, reached the spot and took stock of the situation and demanded strict action on the self-help group.
78 children were given anti-rabies injection dose
After this, the children were taken to Lachhanpur Health Center, where doctors gave the first dose of anti-rabies injection to 78 children as a precaution. Dr. Veena Verma, in -charge of the health center, said that no infection has been confirmed in the children, but this step was taken on the demand of the villagers and family members.
Seeing the seriousness of the incident, subdivisional officer (SDM) Deepak Nikunj, Block Education Officer Naresh Verma and other administrative officials visited the school. During this, statements of children, teachers, parents and management committee members were recorded. However, members of the self-help group who prepared the mid-day meal did not attend the investigation.
Demand for investigation on case
Regional MLA Sandeep Sahu has also taken a tough stand on this whole matter. He has written a letter to Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai demanding a high -level inquiry. At the same time, wanted to know from which level the decision to give anti-rabies vaccine to children was taken.
This incident raises questions on the mid-day meal monitoring system in the state and emphasizes the demand of the concerned authorities to decide the accountability. The administration has started investigating the case at present and hopes to take action against the culprits soon.
