Home Minister Amit Shah was on a visit to Chhattisgarh last month. Then he had said that the state government is working on a new plan. With this, India will be free from Maoist violence by the year 2026. Experts have told that the government is going to bring a new surrender policy for Maoists in the coming two months, that is, a plan to give up weapons and violence and adopt a normal life. The ground effects of these plans have started to be seen. Today, Naxalites carrying a reward of Rs 12 lakh surrendered in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh. The reason behind this has also been given.

Dedication done after being inspired by government schemes

Police have reported that four Naxalites have surrendered in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh. All four had a reward of Rs 12 lakh on their heads. Officials said that they are also impressed by the state government’s anti-Naxalite policy and welfare schemes.

Maoists will be rejuvenated in the camp

Under this policy, rehabilitation camps will be set up in Maoist-affected areas for three years. These camps will provide the necessary help to Maoists to enter normal life, for example, attention will be paid to the skill development of these people.

The district administration will run such camps

An official, on the condition of anonymity, said that the new policy will have a provision to give monthly allowance for three years. In this, monthly financial assistance of Rs 10,000 will be provided for 3 years. Although such efforts were made in the previous policies as well, but this time it will be given more strict attention. He said that the district administration will set up and run these camps.

Despite immediate grants, three years of waiting

Another officer said that high rank cadre Maoists will be given Rs 5 lakh on surrender. Whereas medium and low rank cadre Maoists will be given Rs 2.5 lakh as immediate grant. However, there is a condition of the government in this, due to which it takes three years for the money to reach the person. The surrendered Maoist will have to spend three years under the supervision of the nominated officer. After this, he will be given money based on his conduct and behavior.

This also includes inputs from PTI.
