Bihar Politics: As soon as Election Commissioner Vivek Joshi reached Patna, the capital of Bihar, the political stir of the state once again intensified. Meanwhile, Union Minister Chirag Paswan -led Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has given a new indication of political strategy. The party has announced that it will organize programs like ‘Bahujan Bhima Dialogue’ in various districts despite being in NDA.
Chirag Paswan decided to fight alone in the 2020 assembly elections and challenged Nitish Kumar directly, although he kept himself close to the BJP, calling himself Narendra Modi’s ‘Hanuman’. The move caused heavy damage to JDU and strengthened the BJP. Now the question arises whether Chirag is going to play a similar bet in 2025? Before the upcoming assembly elections, there is a lot of discussion in the political corridors whether Chirag Paswan will once again be with NDA or will they play a different trick playing the role of ‘B-Team’ like last time?
Support from place or outside in NDA?
Recently, LJP (Ram Vilas) finds a place in the Modi cabinet indicates that the relationship with the NDA is improving. But according to seat sharing and local equations in Bihar, the next move of Chirag will be important. Especially when the old tension between BJP and JDU is not completely over.
Political analysts believe that Chirag Paswan’s strategy may be double. Trying to coordinate with BJP at the Center and to maintain independent identity in the state. This helps them to maintain a hold on the Paswan vote bank and at the same time remains close to the center of power.
Is Chirag again ‘sleeper agent’?
In 2020, the role of Chirag was seen by the opposition and JDU as the ‘sleeper agent of BJP’. If he takes a separate path again this time but does not speak openly against the BJP, then it would not be wrong to guess that he may again be a part of any strategic ‘setting’.
Future politics will decide the equation of coalition
Currently, Chirag Paswan has not taken any stand clearly, but his statements and political activities are indicating that he is running every option open. In Bihar politics, he can definitely play the role of ‘Kingmaker’, at least the role of ‘Discipper’. But it seems that he himself is wanting to become a king.
In the coming months, Chirag Paswan’s stance will decide whether he will become a permanent partner with the NDA or a strategic partner. One thing is certain that the next election of Bihar will be incomplete without a lamp.
