Uttarakhand news: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami paid floral tributes at the martyr memorial on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Day (Shaurya Day) program held at Gandhi Park, Dehradun on Saturday and paid tribute to the brave martyrs. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also honored the families of the Kargil martyrs. The Chief Minister announced during the program that ECHS in Kaleshwar of Chamoli district. (Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme) Center and Sainik Rest House and Sainik Rest House will be constructed in Nainital.
He said that through ‘Upanal’, ex -servicemen will be provided employment opportunities abroad, including 50% of civilians. Currently, about 22,500 people of the state are being provided employment through Upanal and the process of regulations is also in progress.
The Chief Minister said that the country will always remember the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the motherland. He said that the war fought by Indian soldiers in Kargil’s valleys and mountains still resonates as a saga of valor. The knights of India defeated enemies with indomitable courage, excellent strategy and valor. He said that 75 soldiers of Uttarakhand were martyred in the Kargil war.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the morale of the armies has increased and they are being equipped with state -of -the -art techniques and weapons. Recently, through Operation Sindoor, our army brought Pakistan on his knees in just four days. This is a new India that gives a befitting reply to every nefarious act of enemies.
He said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, many important decisions such as One Rank-One Pension, National War Memorial, increase in defense budget, and strengthening of border infrastructure have been taken. The grace amount received by the state government to the dependents of the martyrs has been increased from 10 lakh to 50 lakh rupees, while the ex -gratia amount given to Paramveer Chakra winners has been increased from 50 lakh to Rs 1.5 crore. The lump sum and annual amount given to the soldiers honored with other bravery awards has also been increased.
The Chief Minister said that a member of the family of the martyrs is being accommodated in the government job, whose application deadline has been extended from 2 years to 5 years. In the state, soldiers and ex -servicemen with the prizes and ex -servicemen are being given 25% discount in stamp duty on free travel in the buses of Transport Corporation and the purchase of assets up to Rs 25 lakh.
Sainik Welfare Minister Shri Ganesh Joshi said that 75 soldiers of Uttarakhand were martyred in the Kargil war, out of which 31 were from Dehradun region. So far, 1,831 soldiers of Uttarakhand have been martyred, out of which 1,528 has received the Bravery Award and 344 has received special service medals. He said that government jobs are being given by the state government to the dependents of the martyrs, and so far 37 people have got employment.
On this occasion, Rajya Sabha MP Mr. Naresh Bansal, MLA Mr. Khajan Das, MLA Mrs. Savita Kapoor, responsible holder Mrs. Vinod Uniyal, Secretary Sainik Welfare Mr. Deepender Chaudhary, Major General Samasi Sabarwal (S.N.), Brigadier Amrit Lal (S.N.), MD Upanal Brigadier JS. Bisht (C.N.), Brigadier K.G. Bahl (SN), District Magistrate Dehradun Mr. Savin Bansal, SSP Mr. Ajay Singh, and many military officers, ex -servicemen and families of martyrs were present.
