Congress on Wednesday released its third list of 40 more candidates for the Haryana assembly elections. The prominent name among them is that of Aditya Surjewala, son of party general secretary Randeep Surjewala, who has been given a ticket from Kaithal. Congress has so far declared a total of 81 candidates for Haryana. It has not yet announced candidates for nine seats, while the last date for nomination is September 12.
Meanwhile, there has been speculation about an alliance between the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the past few days, although Arvind Kejriwal’s party has announced 70 candidates so far. However, the possibility of an alliance with the AAP has not been officially ruled out by the Congress leadership.
Congress has nominated Chander Mohan from Panchkula, Ramniwas Rara from Hisar, Pradeep Narwal from Bawani Khera, Nirmal Singh from Ambala City, Bharat Singh Beniwal from Ellenabad and Chander Prakash from Adampur. Congress also announced five more candidates for Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections on Wednesday. Former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand has been given ticket from Chhamb Assembly constituency.
