Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Friday said the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) constituents have agreed on the formula for sharing 210 of the 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra. Raut told reporters here that the alliance includes Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, Congress and Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party.
“Meetings have taken place,” he said. We met Sharad Pawar on Thursday. 210 seats have been agreed upon. We will announce these seats. Our list is ready.” Taking aim at the BJP’s victory in the Haryana assembly elections, Raut said the BJP should ‘introspect as to how it won.’
AIMIM considering alliance with MVA
Recently, Asaduddin Owaisi’s All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) approached Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) as part of its desire to forge an alliance with Maha Vikas Aghadi in 28 Muslim-dominated constituencies in the upcoming Maharashtra elections. Speaking to Marathi news channel ‘ABP Majha’, Jaleel said, “We have prepared a letter after taking advice from AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi and it has been sent to Congress and NCP (SP). Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) has recently become secular and we know their stand on various issues.
