Assembly elections are going to be held in Jammu and Kashmir. Before this, terrorists are trying to terrorize the valley. However, the security forces are foiling their plans. Security forces have arrested a terrorist associate of Jammu and Kashmir Ghaznavi Force (JKGF) with explosives and ammunition in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
A police spokesperson said here on Friday that a joint check post of police, army along with CRPF was set up at Potha bypass on Thursday evening and during the search, the security personnel noticed a person coming suspiciously from the direction of Surankot.
The spokesperson said that on seeing the security forces, he tried to run away but the alert forces caught him. He said that during the search, a bag was recovered from his possession which contained three hand grenades, explosive material and other objectionable materials.
Preliminary investigation identified him as Mohammad Shabbir, a resident of Dariyala Nowshera, who was in touch with PoK handler Azim Khan alias Mudeer, who directed him to bring the consignment from Surankote town.
The spokesperson said the police have taken cognizance of the incident and more arrests are expected.
