Case registered under this section
A case has been registered under Section 353(1) of the Indian Penal Code. This includes statements, false information, rumours, false reports etc. spread or published with the intent to frighten or alarm the public. Deputy Collector Abhishek Ranjan Sinha had lodged an FIR in this regard. Sinha handles the responsibility of the department related to the development of the statue and tourism.
Why was it necessary to file a case
The complaint states that by spreading such false rumours, an attempt has been made to scare people and disturb the peace. Let us tell you that thousands of people gather to see this statue. Such fear-inducing news will reduce people’s attraction towards the statue. Therefore, it was very important to take cognizance of this matter as soon as possible.
