Ahmedabad: Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). BJP MLA and Ravindra Jadeja’s wife Rivaba Jadeja gave this information by posting his pictures as a new member on her social media handle. In her post on the x handle, Rivaba also shared pictures of herself and her husband with the BJP membership card. Let us tell you that 35-year-old Ravindra Jadeja announced his retirement from T20 after India’s historic T20 World Cup 2024 win against South Africa in June.
Jadeja is now going to start a new innings
Jadeja’s wife Rivaba Jadeja is already in BJP. She is a BJP MLA from Jamnagar North seat in Gujarat. Now Ravindra Jadeja is going to start a new innings in politics. However, it is not yet clear what his role will be in BJP.
Rivaba joined BJP in 2019
Rivaba joined the BJP in 2019 and was fielded by the party from the Jamnagar assembly seat in 2022. She won the seat by defeating AAP candidate Karshanbhai Karmur. Jadeja was also seen campaigning for his wife.
BJP is running a membership campaign
Let us tell you that recently BJP President JP Nadda and Prime Minister Modi had started a membership campaign. BJP is adding new members. Nadda had renewed PM Modi’s membership in the presence of senior party leaders including Union Ministers like Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah.
Modi said the young generation as BJP members will be the biggest source of strength for the party to fulfill its resolve to make India a developed country by 2047. The BJP runs a campaign to renew the membership of its existing members and induct new members every six years in accordance with its constitution. Modi said the BJP is the only organisation that follows democratic principles in running its organisational affairs.
