A case of gang rape of a Dalit girl has come to light in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan. The girl, who was found unconscious on 2 September, has registered a case in the women’s police station on 4 September. The girl has accused five youths of raping her after bringing her to Jaisalmer and making her intoxicated at some place. The police have registered a case of gang rape of a Dalit girl in the women’s police station and detained four accused youths.
Meanwhile, the search for one is still on. While talking to the media on Wednesday, ASP Priyanka Kumawat of the Women’s Crime Cell said that the girl is studying in a village in Jaisalmer’s Sadar police station area and lives alone in a rented room in the village. On September 2, the girl was found in an intoxicated state by the villagers in the village. She was brought to Jawahar Hospital by the Sadar police station and treated. After treatment, she was kept in Sakhi Kendra.
After the family of the girl arrived, she complained about the gang rape of her on 28th August by 5 youths of the same village. After the family informed the police about the incident, a case of gang rape of the girl was registered in the women police station on Wednesday. Actually, on 2nd September, the Sadar police received information that a girl was sitting in a semi-conscious state. After which the police reached the spot and found a girl sitting. After that, the girl was brought to Jaisalmer district and was treated after medical examination. The girl first told that I had come to Thaiyat with my friend, where we came to Jaisalmer after consuming alcohol. After that we went back to the village from Jaisalmer.
The police got the girl’s medical examination done at Suraksha Sakhi Center Jaisalmer, but when the girl’s family members came to Jaisalmer, the girl registered a case in the women’s police station. It is being told that all five youths are residents of the same village in Jaisalmer. Priyanka Kumawat said that we have registered a case and have arrested four youths. The search for one youth is on. ASP Rajesh Sharma is investigating this case.
