Approval was given to demolish the illegal structure of Sanjauli Mosque in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, but now again a hurdle seems to be coming in it. Actually, the work of demolishing the illegal floors of the mosque had already started, but the work of demolishing the structure was not done on Tuesday. It was told that till 1 o’clock in the afternoon no laborer was seen doing any demolition there. When the Chairman of the Mosque Committee was asked about this, let us know what he told.
This is the problem with demolishing illegal structures.
Mosque Committee Chairman Mohammad Latif said that he is committed to building brotherhood in the state. When the atmosphere in the state deteriorated, he himself offered to remove the illegal part of the mosque. He said that we are ready to demolish the illegal part of the mosque within the stipulated time, but shortage of money is emerging as the biggest problem. He said that everyone gave money to build it, but now no one is ready to pay money to demolish it.
Lakhs of rupees will be spent in demolishing the structure
Latif said that the workers have been given the demolition work, but they did not come to work due to the festive season. The workers have talked about expediting the work after Diwali. In terms of financial constraints, the Sanjauli Masjid Committee believes that Rs 10 to 15 lakh is required to remove such a huge structure. There is a problem in arranging this much money at once.
Orders were given to demolish the mosque
On October 5, the Shimla Municipal Corporation Commissioner’s court had ordered the demolition of the upper three unauthorized (illegal) floors of the disputed five-storey Sanjauli Mosque. For this, Waqf Board and Mosque Committee were given two months time to implement the order.
