The cold has become severe in Himachal Pradesh. The minimum temperature in the tribal areas of the state is continuously falling. The nights are getting colder especially in the hilly and high mountain areas. In tribal areas, the mercury has gone below the freezing point and the water of natural water sources, rivers, streams and springs has started turning into ice. Monday night was the coldest night of the season in Tabo of Lahaul-Spiti. The Meteorological Department has ruled out the possibility of rain and snowfall till October 28. During this period, the maximum temperature will remain normal, but there are chances of a drop in the minimum temperature.
Dry cold is increasing due to lack of rain and snowfall
According to the Meteorological Department, the average minimum temperature of the state has increased by 0.1 degrees in the last 24 hours. The minimum temperature was one degree above normal. The month of October is going on dry in the state. Due to lack of rain from clouds, drought has arisen and vegetables and crops are getting damaged. After the departure of monsoon this month, rainfall has been 97 percent less than normal. Due to lack of rain and snowfall, the outbreak of dry cold is increasing. The weather is likely to remain clear across the state till October 28.
