Former Haryana Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala has been fined by the traffic police for not wearing a helmet during a road show in Faridabad. Chautala of the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) has been fined Rs 2,000 for road safety violation while riding a motorcycle, police said. Police have also seized 14 motorcycles involved in the road show.
The two-wheeler Chautala was riding is registered in the name of a person named Riyasat Ali. JJP leader Karamat Ali had organised a public meeting in Gochi and Chautala had gone there as the chief guest. Police said at least 100 JJP workers were seen riding bikes without helmets. They said they were identifying number plates to send challans. A total of 15 challans were issued during the road show.
Dushyant Chautala said that the party will soon finalise its candidates for the Haryana elections to be held on October 1. He said that there will be no place for those who betrayed the organisation. The former deputy chief minister said that the JJP is in full election mode and its preparations are going on in full swing.
Ajay Singh Chautala-led JJP and Chandrashekhar Azad’s Azad Samaj Party (KSP) on Tuesday announced their alliance for the assembly elections. Under the alliance formula, JJP will contest 70 out of 90 assembly seats, while Azad Samaj Party will contest 20 seats.
Dushyant Chautala said that an important meeting of the JJP’s political affairs committee is to be held on September 2, in which the names of most of his party’s candidates will be decided.
