On Monday morning at around 8 am, criminals shot dead property dealer Kamlesh Rai (50 years), in Perhap village of Sahar police station area of Bhojpur district. Kamlesh was going to Ara Court with his brother Manoranjan Rai in connection with the murder case of his only son. Kamlesh had moved a little distance from his house on the bike when the criminals, who were already lying in wait, fired six rounds at him. He died on the spot, while Manoranjan Rai was injured. The police have arrested two people, including a woman resident of Perhap village, in this murder case. Kamlesh’s son Aditya Kumar was murdered by criminals on April 15 this year.
Manoranjan Rai, who was injured in the attack, said that on Monday morning his brother Kamlesh Rai was going to Ara court in connection with his son’s murder case. He was going to Perhap turn on his bike to drop him off. During that time, Priyanshu Rai and other miscreants hiding behind a wall in the village started firing indiscriminately at them. The elder brother died due to the bullet injury. Manoranjan was shot in the shoulder and has been admitted to Ara Sadar Hospital. Priyanshu Rai’s name also came up in the murder of Kamlesh’s son Aditya Rai. A few days ago, the police had confiscated his house. Kamlesh was also shot at the time of Aditya’s murder. His life was saved after treatment.
Here, on receiving the news of Kamlesh’s murder, the villagers became angry and blocked the Ara-Arwal road with the body demanding the arrest of Priyanshu Rai and other accused. The angry people were demanding to call the SP to the spot.
Traffic on the Ara-Arwal road was disrupted for about three hours. Later, on the initiative of the SP, ASP Parichay Kumar arrived and pacified the people by explaining. He assured to arrest the criminals within 48 hours and punish the culprits under speedy trial. Only after this, traffic was restored and the post-mortem of the body was done. A special team has been formed under the leadership of Piro SDPO to arrest the accused Priyanshu. Bhojpur Superintendent of Police Pramod Yadav said that Kamlesh Rai’s father had three brothers. One of his uncles had no children. Kamlesh and his brother had got his property registered in their names. There was a dispute going on between Kamlesh Rai and Priyanshu Rai for a long time regarding this land.
Police said that the incident was carried out by nephew Priyanshu Rai due to the ongoing land dispute. The FSL team has also collected evidence for scientific investigation. A special team has been formed under the leadership of Piro SDPO to arrest the accused and raids are being conducted. On the basis of the statement of the family members, two people including a woman who worked as a liner have been detained in the murder.
