In Rohtas district, an alleged army jawan opened fire on a neighbour in a dispute over removing the balcony. The neighbour had a narrow escape. The police have arrested the accused youth. Two guns, 13 cartridges and two magazines have been recovered from him.

The police have allegedly arrested an army jawan in the firing case after a dispute between two people over removing the balcony during the construction of a house in Gopi Bigha of Dehri Mufassil police station area of Rohtas district. A double barrel gun, a pistol, cartridges and other weapons have been seized from his house. In a press conference in this regard, Dehri SDPO-1 Kota Kiran said that information about firing in Gopi Bigha was received on Saturday evening. After this, on the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, a team was immediately formed and a raid was conducted in Gopi Bigha village.
The accused involved in the incident, Mithlesh Kumar, father Shivprasad Singh, has been arrested. The weapon and bullet used in the incident have been recovered. Apart from this, a double barrel gun, a pistol, two magazines, 13 live cartridges, a double bore rod and three shells have also been recovered.

The accused is said to be an Army jawan, the SDPO said that he is being identified. In this regard, in the FIR lodged at the Mufussil police station, handicapped Om Prakash Singh, a resident of Gopi Bigha, has stated that Mithilesh Kumar, our neighbour, was casting the roof of his house. But when I asked him why he was extending the balcony through my land, Mithilesh Kumar started abusing me and took out a double barrel gun from his house and fired it directly at me. Both the bullets from the gun grazed his temples. He somehow saved his life by hiding nearby.

During this time, Kusum Devi of his house took away the gold chain from my neck and 10 thousand rupees from my pocket. Being handicapped, I was not able to defend myself completely. I also got injured due to falling. The SDPO has said that the weapon and cartridges are being examined. Also, the fact that the accused is an army soldier is also being investigated.
