According to a report in The Indian Express, Kuldeep, nephew of former BJP MP Ram Singh Rathwa, was shot dead in Pipladi village of Kawant taluka in Chhota Udaipur on Friday evening, police said. According to police, the accused named Shankar Rathwa killed Kuldeep due to an old rivalry. Police said the accused, along with his accomplice Amala Rathwa, reached Pipladi village on Friday evening and opened fire on Kuldeep.
“The incident took place around 10 pm on Friday night when ex-army man Shankar Rathwa reached Kuldeep’s house and shot him. He then fled on a two-wheeler along with his accomplice Amala. Shankar Rathwa has been arrested, while the search for the other accused Amala is on,” said Gaurav Agarwal, sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) of Chhota Udaipur.
The police officer said that the accused had a grudge against the victim since his faction won the sarpanch elections a few years ago. The accused had a grudge against Kuldeep since his faction won the sarpanch elections a few years ago.
The deceased Kuldeep Chhota was the son of the younger brother of former BJP MP from Udaipur, Ram Singh Rathwa.
Meanwhile, Kuldeep’s wife Hansa alleged, “For the past five days, Shankar was threatening to kill my husband. He even came to our house to threaten him. He came to our house on Friday night and shot Kuldeep. This has happened due to the election results.”
Police said a case has been registered against the accused and an FIR was lodged for murder at the Kawant police station on Saturday.
