Pradeep Sharma’s difficulties increased
Gandhinagar: Former Collector and IAS officer of Kutch district Pradeep Sharma has been sentenced to 5 years and has also been fined Rs 10,000. The names of the accused are Pradeep Kumar Nikaranath Sharma, Natubhai Motibhai Desai, Naresh Popatlal Patel and Atiningh Mahipat Singh Jhala.
What is the whole matter?
In fact, an application was made by the complainant company Shri Sol Pipes Limited to allot government land located in the border of Mosamaghogha, Taluka Jetpur for industrial use. The District Collector had allowed the government’s order to be approved up to Rs 15,00,000 as per the government’s order dated 06/06/2003 and 27/11/2000.
However, despite this, the accused no. 1 (the then District Collector), against the demand shown in the file, allotted 47,173 square meters of land, which was more than the sanctioned limit. Only one demand and the same day, all this land was allotted to the same company for the same use.
According to the order of the Gandhinagar Secretariat, if the land is demanded for land under different survey numbers for the same purpose, then all the demands should be consolidated and decided simultaneously. But here intentionally ignoring the rules, more than 20,000 square meters (27,173 additional) land was allotted waste in the same survey number.
By disregarding government orders and rules, the accused gave economic benefits to the company and economic loss to the government. All the accused had a mutual connivance behind this and this conspiracy was hatched in the meeting of the District Land Assessment Committee. CID in this regard FIR by Crime Branch, Rajkot Zone No. A case was filed under Section 120 (B), 409, 420 of 1/11, IPC.
