A case of rape of a 22-year-old girl during a birthday party has come to light in Thane district of Maharashtra. According to the report, she was allegedly raped after being given intoxicants. Three people, including a woman, have been arrested in this case. Police gave this information on Friday. The officer said that this incident took place in an apartment in Shirgaon area of Badlapur on the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday. According to the complaint, all this happened during a birthday party.
Police officials said that based on the complaint, the accused Santosh Shivram Rupwate, Shivam Sanjay Raje and Aliska alias Bhumika Ravindra Meshram were arrested. He said that Aliska had called the victim to her house for a birthday party and the other 2 accused were already present there. He said that after the party, both the people (male accused) started drinking alcohol in the bedroom. Quoting the complaint, the officer said that when the victim got up to leave, she complained of uneasiness and the accused woman gave her lemonade.

The officer said that the drink was allegedly laced with some intoxicating substance, after drinking which the victim started feeling dizzy. He said that one of these men raped the victim in the bathroom and left her in an unconscious state. The officer said that a case has been registered against the accused. Also, they are being questioned regarding the whole matter and further action will be taken on that basis.
