By March next year, 13 lakh construction workers of Bihar will be registered. The Labor Resources Department has made preparations for this. For this, necessary instructions have been given to departmental officers. To achieve the target, special camps will be organized by the department at the Panchayat level. According to departmental officials, workers engaged in building construction or road construction work are registered. Among the total 20 types of workers, workers aged between 18 to 60 years are registered only when they have worked for at least 90 days within a year. The registration fee is Rs 20. A fee of Rs 50 has been fixed for registration for five years.

In the camps organized in Panchayats, not only will the laborers be registered but the already registered laborers will also be renewed. Labor Resources Department Secretary Deepak Anand said that a target has been set for registration of 13 lakh workers in the current financial year. For this, necessary instructions have been given to departmental officers. Soon camps will be organized at Panchayat level.
Registered workers get government assistance
Many types of assistance are provided by the government to the registered workers of the state. Under this, 14 types of assistance are given including annual medical assistance, tool purchase grant, marriage assistance, building repair, cash award. Assistance was given to 21 lakh people in the financial year 2020-21. Whereas in the financial year 2021-22, 9 lakh 96 thousand 233 people, 1 lakh 62 thousand in the financial year 2022-23, 1 lakh 9 thousand 638 in 2023-24 and in the current financial year 2024-25, more than 49 thousand people will be provided assistance.
